Program Details

The program includes:

  • Placement with a carefully selected host family
  • Guaranteed enrollment in a U.S. high school
  • All the necessary paperwork for obtaining your J-1 visa
  • Medical insurance coverage for illness and injury which exceeds the standards of the U.S. Department of State (pre-existing conditions excluded).
  • An orientation in both your home country and the U.S.
  • Room, board and basic transportantion provided by your host family
  • A Representative in your home country to assist you in the application and preparation process
  • A local U.S. Representative to guide you throughout your exchange year
  • An official student handbook
  • The opportunity to participate in a fall or winter weekend camp
  • A final session and tour in Washington DC before returning home
  • Six days and nights at a resort quality Young Life camp
  • Follow-up meetings after you return to your home country
  • A Certificate of Completion

The program does NOT include:

  • Travel expense from and back to your home country
  • Spending money during the exchange year
